Frequently asked questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the Navettes Maritimes du Fjord’s dates of operation?
We operate on the fjord from early June to early October. Please note that the precise dates when the season starts and ends vary from year to year.

Are picnics allowed onboard?

Yes, you can bring your picnic on board. Snacks and beverages (bottled water, juices, coffee, etc.) are also available for purchase on board our three ships. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited to bring on board since we sell alcoholic beverages on the vessels (wine, beer).

In addition, the villages in which you’ll be visiting offer restaurants on-site; the perfect opportunity to discover local dishes in an enchanting environment!

Can I bring my pet on board?

Unfortunately, marine laws prohibits pets on board, even if the animal is small and/or kept in a cage.

Is it recommended to purchase tickets in advance?

It’s always recommended to buy tickets in advance.  It's inconvenient to discover that the boat is full after arriving at the ticket booth, which is frequently the case during high season. You may purchase your tickets in advance online or by calling 1-800-363-7248 (toll free) or 418-543-7630.

How do I make a reservation?

Full payment is required to make reservations. You can buy your tickets via our web site, or by calling 418-543-7630 or 1-800-363-7248 (toll free). A credit card is required to complete the reservation.

What methods of payment are accepted at the ticket booths?

All of our ticket booths accept cash, debit and credit cards. Cheques are not accepted.

Where do I pick-up my tickets?

Ticket booths are easily identifiable and in proximity to all boarding zones with the exception of Tadoussac (see note below). If you bought your tickets online or by telephone, your tickets will be available at the ticket booth next to the boarding pier. Tickets are never sent by mail. If you purchased your tickets with one of our partners (hotel or other accommodations), bring your purchase order to the ticket booth and we’ll provide your tickets in exchange.

NOTE FOR TADOUSSAC:  There is no ticket booth next to the boarding pier in Tadoussac. Show your purchase order or proof of online purchase (paper or on your mobile device) directly to the captain of the Cap Liberté when boarding.

Am I allowed to bring my bicycle onboard?

Cyclists (and their bicycles) are the welcome on board our vessels. Les Navettes Maritimes du Fjord offers transportation to bypass some of the more challenging sections of the Véloroute du Fjord du Saguenay.

Are there washrooms on board?

All our vessels are equipped with washrooms.

 What if it rains?

Our vessels have covered decks to keep you protected from the elements and allow you to witness the rain’s mysterious effect on the fjord.

Are departures offered daily?

Yes, departures are guaranteed every day. However, Les Navettes Maritimes du Fjord may decide to cancel certain departures due to bad weather (high winds and storms) for security reasons. Please note that this is extremely rare, departures are still offered even during heavy rain.

Does every vessel offer interpretive guides?

Yes, interpretations are offered on board every vessel.

How should I dress for a cruise?

The temperature can change rapidly while on the fjord; it’s important to plan for all conditions.  Sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses are suggested when the sun is shining. A sweater or windbreaker (waterproof) is recommended for cloudy, windy or rainy days.
