What are the sanitary measures on the boats ?
We don't know the sanitary measures for the summer season. If there are any changes, we will let you know as soon as possible.
Reservation and tickets
Is it recommended to purchase tickets in advance?
You can by your tickets either online or by calling 1-800-363-7248 (toll free) or 418-543-7630. Please note that it is very frequent that our boats are full a couple of days ahead for certain itineraries on the fjord. It might be a good idea to plan ahead for your reservations!
How do I make a reservation?
Full payment is required to make reservations. You can buy your tickets via our web site, or by calling 418-543-7630 or 1-800-363-7248 (toll free). A credit card is required to complete the reservation.
What methods of payment are accepted at the ticket booth?
For online or phone reservations, we can only accept credit cards.
Where do I pick-up my tickets?
Your tickets will be available at the ticket booth next to the boarding pier, either in the cruise ship pavilion in La Baie or at our ticket booth directly on the pier in L'Anse-Saint-Jean. We never send tickets by mail. If you purchased your tickets with one of our partners (hotel or other accommodations), bring your purchase order to the ticket booth and we’ll provide your tickets in exchange. For Sainte-Rose-du-Nord, Parc Aventures Cap Jaseux or Tadoussac, simply show your proof of purchase (paper or on your phone) directly to our staff when boarding the boat. You can also buy tickets in Sainte-Rose-du-Nord at 213 rue du Quai (pavillon de la montagne).
Are picnics allowed onboard?
Yes, you can bring your picnic on board any of our three boats. Snacks and beverages (bottled water, juices, coffee, etc.) are also available for purchase on board. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited to bring on board since we sell alcoholic beverages on the boat(wine, beer). There are no meal services on board.
What are the restaurant options during your stopovers?
The villages in which you’ll be visiting offer restaurants on-site; the perfect opportunity to discover local dishes in an enchanting environment!
In Sainte-Rose-du-Nord, the Rose Café (20 seats) offers a regional cuisine : blueberry pie, local "tourtière" (traditionnal meat pie), bison hamburgers, boar sausages with blueberries, local cheeses and smoked trout from Saint-Fulgence. The 3G Restaurant is a familly owned fast-food joint that offers a full menu including home-made fries and delicious maple butter filled ice-cream cones. .
In L'Anse-Saint-Jean, the Café du Quai offers a warm but dynamic britanny cuisine experience fwith a view on the fjord. The menu includes sweet and salted crèpes from with a large possibility of different fillings, hot and cold sandwiches, salads and high quality coffees. It is possible to buy a lunch box in advance for take out during your stopover at HYPERLIEN where a preferential rate is offered to Navettes maritimes du Fjord customers. This rebate will not be offered directly at the restaurant. You will be able to enjoy your lunch box at the pic-nic tables on the dock or even on the beach. You car also book a table at the restaurant and have access to the full menu at HYPERLIEN.
Is the excursion on La Marjolaine recommended for families with young children?
The boat is very safe to bring young children. The excursion may be considered long for some children who may become restless. Also please remember that while there is interpretation by a guide during the excursion, the scenery in the fjord is very contemplative. It is a good idea to bring games and activities on board to entertain the children (books, coloring books, dolls, legos, puzzles, tablets, etc). There is a small television in the kid's area where Disney movies are played during the excursion.
What are the Navettes Maritimes du Fjord’s dates of operation?
We usually operate on the fjord from early June to early October. Please note that the precise dates when the season starts and ends vary from year to year. For 2022, we will operate only in high season, from June 25th to September 5th (7 days a week). The departure of La Marjolaine from Sainte-Rose-du-Nord will extend its season for the following dates: September 6-7-8-10-13-14-15-16-17.
Can I bring my pet on board?
Unfortunately, marine laws prohibits pets on board, even if the animal is small and/or kept in a cage.
Am I allowed to bring my bicycle onboard?
Cyclists (and their bicycles) are the welcome on board our vessels. Les Navettes Maritimes du Fjord offers transportation to bypass some of the more challenging sections of the Véloroute du Fjord du Saguenay.
Are there washrooms on board?
All our vessels are equipped with washrooms.
What if it rains?
Our vessels have covered decks to keep you protected from the elements and allow you to witness the rain’s mysterious effect on the fjord.
Departure and dates of operation
Are departures offered daily?
Yes, we do operate 7 days a week. However, Les Navettes Maritimes du Fjord may decide to cancel certain departures due to bad weather (high winds and storms) for security reasons. Please note that this is extremely rare, departures are still offered even during heavy rain.
Does the excursion offer interpretion?
Yes, interpretations are offered on board every vessel.
How should I dress for a cruise?
The temperature can change rapidly while on the fjord; it’s important to plan for all conditions. Sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses are suggested when the sun is shining. A sweater or windbreaker (waterproof) is recommended for cloudy, windy or rainy days.
